Salmon Fly Fishing
From the last week of July to the middle of November the rivers of
the Campbell River and Gold River areas are teaming
with one or more of the 5 pacific Salmon species. It is not uncommon
to hook many Salmon in a day of fly fishing. Call
us for details of the species you would like to target, and we will
set you up with the best dates for campbell river area Salmon fly
fishing.
Pacific
Salmon cruise the shorline and estuaries surrounding the Campbell
River area from mid August to mid October, before they begin to enter
their native rivers along the coast.
While cruising, these salmon are voraciously feeding. This provides
excellent opportunity to hook one of these aggressive fish on a fly.
Whether from shore, in one of our pontoon boats or from our anchored
boat, our Campbell River fishing guides will get you to where the
salmon are.

".....No more waiting all day to maybe catch one
Atlantic, when we can fish Vancouver Island for five different species
of fighting Pacifics. Thanks for the great time."

Steelhead
Fishing
Steelhead
are one of the most sought after sport fish in the world, and at Coastal
Wilderness Adventures, we plan to show you why Vancouver Island
Steelhead Fishing is something you'll never forget. There are
two different runs of Steelhead in the Vancouver Island area. One
being a summer-run of fish from July to October, and the other being
a winter-run of fish from December to April. During the winter
months (Dec.-Apr.) we are focusing virtually all our guide efforts
on winter-run steelhead. Most of our Steelhead trips are on
the world-famous Gold River here on Vancouver Island. The Gold
River hosts one of the most amazing 100% wild Winter Steelhead runs
in all of North America.
Winter-run Steelhead range in size
from 5 pounds to 25 pounds. Winter Steelhead are one of the hardest
fighting freshwater fish that reside in Canadian waters: Vancouver
Island Winter Steelhead will bring an angler to their knees! You
are sure to have an experience like no other when you embark on your
Winter-Steelhead adventure!
Summer-run Steelhead range in size from 3
pounds to 15 pounds, and have a very explosive nature.Summer-run Steelhead
are readily caught on the fly, as warmer waters of the summer months,
produce more aggressive fish. Fly-fishing is our prefered method to
catch these summer-run steelhead.

For the dry fly and nymph enthusiast, we offer spring trips for Rainbows
in small island streams. These rainbows are extremetly aggressive
on drys and nymphs.
One of the challenging yet rewarding types of fishing is sea-run
cutthroat fishing. These stealth fish cruise the beaches and estuaries
around the Campbell River area, in search of salmon fry. Realistic
presentations turn these wild fish into aggressive feeders if you
can stay on top of them!!

Lake fishing
Beginning in April, the lakes in the Campbell River area start to
turn on!
Imagine the subtle feeling of your line tightening up as a fish sips
your fly... then as it explodes into action on a light fly rod...
There is nothing like early season lake fishing! We have many local
lakes abundant with fish, and a handfull of remote fly-in lakes that
we can access via our unforgettable Lake
Heli-fishing trips.
Heli Fishing Adventures:
Enjoy
a breathtaking adventure of a lifetime. Not only will you experience
spectacular, remote and untouched fishing, but also you will see the
west coast of BC like you have never imagined. On our way to the fishing
grounds we take time to fly over majestic glaciers, peaks and fjords
while looking for Bears, Mountain Goats, Eagles and more. We offer
two types of trips for anglers. One is our Remote Multi-River Fishing
Adventure and the other is our Remote Alpine Lake Adventure.
Remote Multi-River Trip:
On this multi-river adventure our A-Star helicopter is able to take
us to multiple rivers in one day. This enables us to fish all the
best waters for the time of season that you are here in order to access
each of the abundant fish species of the BC coast and Vancouver
Island. As an added bonus we will see many varieties of local
wildlife as we travel to each river, as well as a mountain top gourmet
lunch!
Remote Alpine Lake
Trip:

On our remote alpine lake trip, our A-Star helicopter drops us off
for the day in one of our highly productive alpine lakes with all
our gear and lunch set-up. We'll spend the day paddling or rowing
around catching some of the most aggressive high mountain cutthroat
and rainbows you've ever seen! When you need a break we'll stop for
a shoreline feast and do it some more before our Heli-Limo comes to
take us home.

Each of these fisheries are catch and release, targeting Salmon,
Trout and Steelhead. Our focus is on fly fishing, however we can accommodate
many fishing styles. This is sure to be one of the most spectacular
fishing adventures you will ever embark on! To top it all off, lunch
will be served atop a snow-capped peak, offering a 360 degree view.
